For this project, I wanted to find a way to work a political science theme in, as that is one of my majors. I chose to use my project to promote voting, especially to a younger audience, as they are the demographic that primarily uses social media. I focused on making my carousel simple and easy to skim. In the beginning, I had a lot of information on each slide, but ultimately, it made more sense for the information to be straightforward and skimmable.
Additionally, I tried to keep the color palette and type simple so that it didn’t crowd the page but kept the theme of government and voting, which most people would associate with red, white, and blue (the colors in the U.S. flag). The youth vote has been a huge target by campaigns in the past few major elections, and the youth vote will matter a lot going forward.
